DataSight Addons is an external module that allows you to automatically schedule your routine imports and exports to and from DataSight.  It is run using Windows Scheduler, and imports and exports directly with the MSSQL backend database, and so it does not require the DataSight client to be running on the same computer.

If you have a standard file format such as txt or csv, you can use DataSight Addons to configure your import routine to run at set intervals.  At present scheduling exports is limited to that of the Bureau of Meterology of Australia’s Water Data Transfer Format (WDTF).

With the release of DataSight Addons 1.4, we make the following new features available.

ADDITION OF A WILD CARD

You can now set a wildcard of * in the configuration file path to allow for the automated import of all files containing a set name. This means you can now automatically import related txt or csv files over a period of time, without having to ensure the name of the file remains exactly the same.  This eliminates multiple import configuration files and the need for a batch file.

NEW POST IMPORT OPTIONS

New post import options have been added.  These include:

• Keep the file
• Delete the file
• Move the file to a specified location

These options are particularly useful when used in conjunction with a wild card.  When importing a file containing a wild card you can now allow for the file to be moved or deleted after importation so that the scheduled import batch does not import the same files over and over.

WDTF EXPORTS

For those companies that are feeding data to the Bureau of Meterology in Australia we have configured an export with the required Water Data Transfer Format (WDTF).

VIEW LOGS

Import and Export Logs are now saved in the DataSight Addons folder in the Installation Directory.

HELP FILE UPDATE

A fully updated user manual is now included in the installation package.
